The Firefox web browser allows fast web browsing. It also provides a better browsing of my TV programme.
Install Firefox:
emerge mozilla-firefox
You can launch it via the Start Application menu
by choosing Run Command... and typing "firefox &"
(without the quotes).
Get the Java plugin.
emerge sun-jre-bin
The installer asks you to download the installation file
and provides the corresponding link.
Download the file and move it to /usr/portage/distfiles.
Install the Java plugin.
emerge sun-jre-bin
Link the plugin for FireFox.
ln -s /opt/sun-jre-bin-1.4.2.07/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/plugins/
